Chapter 528 - 527: What Should I Do
Chapter 528 - 527: What Should I Do
Damian Sinclair paused for a moment as he tucked in Aunt Sienna with the blanket, then pretended to be casual, saying, "I’m going to the restroom."
"Bro, really? You’re avoiding people by using a bathroom excuse?" Bea was amazed at what she was witnessing.
Damian turned back, casting her a cold glance without expression.
If looks could kill, Bea would have been chopped to pieces by her own brother by now.
Damian didn’t stay any longer and quickly walked out of the ward.
Soon, the door to the ward opened again, and Bella Acker walked in carrying a lunch box.
Seeing Bella in the ward, Bella Acker was a bit surprised.
Bea proactively explained, "I came to check on Aunt Sienna, but it seems like she wasn’t feeling well. Don’t worry, though; the doctor checked and said she’s fine. I also called you, but you didn’t answer."
Bella Acker’s heart, which was hanging by a thread, finally settled a bit and she said, "I was on set at that time and missed your call. Bella, thank you for taking care of Aunt Sienna for me. You haven’t had lunch yet, right? I brought some food; let’s eat together."
"No need to eat, my mom is waiting for me outside." Bea patted Bella Acker on the shoulder and said, "You’ve had it rough."
Hearing that Mrs. Sinclair was still outside waiting, Bella Acker was taken aback again, "Does Mrs. Sinclair know you came to see Aunt Sienna?"
"She knows." Bea said, "There are some things you just shouldn’t get too caught up in. Maybe in time, things will work themselves out."
Bella Acker understood what she meant, but she also knew in her heart that some things don’t change just because time passes.
If they could change, then why, after twenty years, have these grievances not faded away?
Bella Acker forced a smile, "I understand. Bella, thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you coming over, no one would have known about Aunt Sienna’s episode."
"Speaking of which, I’ve got something to say." Bea said, "Bella, you’re so busy with work and taking care of Ethan. Why not hire a caregiver specifically for Aunt Sienna? That way, you’ll have peace of mind when you can’t be at the hospital."
Bella Acker nodded, "I’m planning on doing just that."
Previously, Bella Acker only took on small gigs, and although she traveled a lot, she could still find some time in the day to return to the hospital to care for Aunt Sienna. But now she’s joined the "Life and Death" cast, and she might not be able to come back during the day or even have late-night shoots sometimes.
Though nearly all of her money goes to medical bills and she saves wherever she can, hiring a caregiver is still crucial now.
"Alright then, I’m off." Bea said, "If you need any help, feel free to call me."
"Mm. Let me see you out."
"You take care of Aunt Sienna, no need to see me out. I’m going now, bye." Bea swiftly left the ward, and Bella Acker walked her to the door, only closing it after watching her leave.
Aunt Sienna was still in a deep sleep. Looking at her increasingly emaciated, almost skeletal face, Bella Acker’s nose began to tingle again.
Bella Acker inhaled sharply, tucked in Aunt Sienna’s blanket, and murmured quietly to herself, "Aunt Sienna, is keeping you alive the right thing or the wrong thing to do?"
For Aunt Sienna now, death might be the true release.
But she doesn’t want to lose Aunt Sienna, always hoping she could live a little longer, even if just for another day.
"Aunt Sienna, what should I do?"
Bella Acker asked softly, tears slipping from her eyes.
