Chapter 611 12
Chapter 611 12
They both knew Lin Kuang was incredibly strong. Otherwise, they never would have come to the East Sea to challenge him. However, they had never imagined his strength would be so immense. It completely surpassed their expectations.
Just moments ago, they had thought Lin Kuang was merely arrogant. But when he displayed a power sufficient to shock them, they understood. It wasn’t arrogance; he truly possessed that level of strength. At the same time, they clearly understood that neither of them was likely a match for Lin Kuang in a one-on-one fight.
Yet, their pride as the first and second-ranked assassins on the Killer List made them reluctant to abandon their dignity and face him two-on-one. For a moment, the two of them couldn’t help but hesitate.
Seeing their hesitation, Lin Kuang couldn’t help but smile. "Gentlemen, how about we make a bet?"
Looking at Lin Kuang, Klaus and Daniel asked in unison, their gazes filled with curiosity, "A bet? What kind of bet?"
"It’s simple," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "You two attack me together. If, by some chance, I win, then from now on, you will both follow my orders and help me establish a force in Europe. That is my demand. If I lose, you can do whatever you want with me. Kill me if you must, or even make me work for you. I will willingly accept. What do you say?"
These two were even stronger than Fan Zeyu had been. If they could become his allies, it would be an immense help to him. Of course, Lin Kuang wasn’t certain if Klaus and Daniel would agree. But making a bet was better than doing nothing, especially since it would be a pity to kill men of their caliber.
Hearing Lin Kuang’s proposal, Klaus and Daniel glanced at each other. Their expressions grew solemn as they exchanged a silent look. A few seconds later, they both turned their gazes back to Lin Kuang.
"King of the Underworld, are you sure you want to make this bet with us?" Klaus asked.
Although Lin Kuang had displayed immense strength, Klaus and Daniel remained extremely confident in their own abilities. They were confident that with their combined power, they had a good chance of defeating him. Moreover, the prospect of winning and having Lin Kuang at their command was a significant temptation. After all, his power was undeniable. Why wouldn’t they want such a formidable Martial Artist serving them?
"Of course. What I, Lin Kuang, say, goes. If I lose, I will absolutely keep my promise," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "And I trust that the top two experts on the Killer List wouldn’t go back on their word, either."
Hearing this, Klaus nodded. "King of the Underworld, there’s no need to use reverse psychology on us. We’ve agreed, and we will naturally honor our promise."
"Excellent. So, do you accept or refuse?" Lin Kuang asked, pressing for the final answer.
Klaus and Daniel exchanged another glance, then nodded and replied in unison, "Since the King of the Underworld has made such an offer, we must naturally reciprocate. We accept. If we lose, we are willing to go to Europe and help you build your organization. If you lose, you must obey our orders from now on."
"No problem. A deal’s a deal," Lin Kuang replied. His tone was perfectly calm, but inwardly, he was thrilled.
Klaus and Daniel felt the same surge of excitement. They, too, had absolute confidence in their abilities—otherwise, why would they ever agree to such a wager?
"Then, let’s begin!" Daniel announced, pulling a Triangular Military Spike from his attire. At the same time, Klaus drew two daggers. These were their chosen weapons. Though confident they could defeat Lin Kuang, they knew they had to give it their all. They brandished their weapons from the very start.
In response, Lin Kuang didn’t hesitate, swiftly drawing Nameless from his waist. The icy blade of the Nameless Sword pulsed with a chilling, terrifying light.
Klaus and Daniel frowned as they looked at the Nameless Sword in Lin Kuang’s hand. As men who had long danced with death, they felt an inexplicable dread emanating from the blade, causing an involuntary shiver to run through them.
"That must be a famed sword, right?" Klaus asked, his eyes fixed on Nameless.
"Indeed. By sword accord, it is called Nameless. The Nameless Sword," Lin Kuang declared, standing with the sword held ready. He spoke with a casual air, yet his entire being radiated the majesty of a sword sovereign.
"A fine sword indeed! Daniel, I’m going in first!" With those words, the power within Klaus erupted, unleashing a terrifying force in an instant.
Klaus moved at the same time, his body blurring into a phantom and vanishing from his spot. His two daggers shot forward, striking for Lin Kuang’s chest and throat—a killing blow from the outset!
Seeing this, Lin Kuang dared not be the least bit careless. Although Klaus wasn’t as strong as him, assassins specialized in lethal techniques, which differed greatly from the combat styles of the Ancient Martial Realm’s experts. To mistake an assassin’s methods for those of a typical Martial Artist would be a fatal, miserable mistake.
With this thought, the Nameless Sword in Lin Kuang’s hand quivered before he brought it down in a powerful slash, aimed directly at Klaus’s head.
Klaus, however, was unfazed. He had experienced countless battles like this; he could react even with his eyes closed. Instantly, he crossed his two daggers in an X-formation to block the descending Nameless Sword.
CLANG!
A piercing shriek echoed as the weapons collided.
THUD!
A dull impact followed, and the marble floor beneath Klaus’s feet instantly cracked.
Feeling the sheer power contained in Lin Kuang’s strike, Klaus’s expression changed, his gaze growing even more solemn. Such incredible force. Is this the true power of the King of the Underworld? Terrifying.
Lin Kuang was slightly surprised. Klaus’s daggers were completely unharmed, not even nicked by the Nameless Sword. They were clearly forged from some special material.
Just as this thought crossed Lin Kuang’s mind, a powerful sense of crisis surged through him. Not good! He immediately poured strength into his legs, activating the Bagua Willow Catkin Step Technique and instantly shifting his body sideways.
The moment he moved, a figure appeared in the spot he had just vacated. It was, of course, Daniel, the cold glint of his Triangular Military Spike leading the attack.
Daniel’s brow furrowed. He was supremely confident in his assassination techniques, so Lin Kuang’s ability to dodge the attack was unexpected. On second thought, however, it made sense. After all, Lin Kuang’s strength was plain to see. It would have been far too anticlimactic if he had been taken down so easily.
