Chapter 1229: You’re the Only Person I Remember After Waking Up

"Sorry! We don’t know each other." Before the Old Master could speak, Xia Yinian’s hoarse voice rang out.She coughed lightly and tried to pull her hand back.

"Don’t know each other? Then why are you crying?" Gu Beicheng frowned, clearly with no intention of letting her go.

"I... caught a cold, I’m not crying." Xia Yinian forced her voice to sound a little better.

Before Gu Beicheng could say anything, Gu Qingyang came up behind him.

"Seventh, getting handsy with a college student in public—what kind of behavior is that?" the Old Master said coldly, sounding both harsh and disappointed.

"No, Grandpa, I clearly know her, and she definitely knows me too, so why is she saying she doesn’t?"

Gu Beicheng gave a hard pull, and Xia Yinian, caught off guard, spun around and nearly crashed into him.

"Sir, please show some respect, we really don’t know each other." Xia Yinian barely steadied herself, but kept her head lowered.

"What do you mean, ’don’t know each other’?" Gu Beicheng’s brows knitted tighter.

"Even if we were just ordinary friends, if you knew I’d lost my memory, you shouldn’t have turned around and left, so I’m sure we must be very close."

Gu Beicheng’s gaze never left Xia Yinian; he didn’t spare the Old Master even a glance.

The Old Master was anxious and furious, but in front of this amnesiac son, he still felt powerless.

"Sir, I really don’t understand what you mean. I... just got a call from home and I’m in a hurry to leave. I really don’t know you."

Xia Yinian’s tears wouldn’t stop, and even she didn’t know whether it was because she was moved to see him, or because he had lost his memory.

"Lift your head and look at me!" Gu Beicheng’s commanding tone poured down from above her.

"I said, lift your head and look at me!" his voice sounded again.

But Xia Yinian kept her head down; apart from sobbing, she made no other move.

"Beicheng, let’s go, come home with me!" the Old Master said coldly.

"Fine, let’s go home." Suddenly, Gu Beicheng tightened his arm around Xia Yinian and turned to leave.

"What are you doing? Let me go! Let go!" Xia Yinian struggled hard, but knowing he was injured, she only dared to push at his arm.

To her surprise, Gu Beicheng simply scooped her up in his arms, strode over to push the door open, and put her in the back seat of the sedan.

The next second, he got in as well, trapping her in his embrace.

"Don’t be afraid. I just want to talk to you. After all, you’re the only person I have any impression of since I woke up."

Gu Beicheng’s calm words were clearly heard by the Old Master, who had rushed back to the car.

Seeing his son’s expression turn cold, he drew in a harsh breath and sat down in the front passenger seat.

"Drive. We’ll talk at home." The Old Master’s voice was icy.

"Yes, Old Master." The assistant nodded and started the car.

Xia Yinian’s gaze stayed fixed on the elderly man in front of her, but her heart was entirely on the man at her side.

Even she hadn’t expected that in just three days, she would end up back in Beicheng’s arms.

In the past few days, she had imagined countless scenarios of them meeting again, but never in a million years did she think he would have lost his memory.

Yet he had said she was the first person he had any impression of after he woke up.

Xia Yinian wasn’t wearing any medicated makeup, but she’d permed her long hair to cover half her face, was wearing glasses, and even her style of clothing had changed.

And he could still recognize her at a glance? Was that even possible?

Had he really lost his memory?
