Chapter 1574: A Pleasant Afternoon
Chapter 1574: A Pleasant Afternoon
Janelle Mills obediently closed her eyes and began to imagine as he suggested, pretending there was an ocean ahead...Trevor stopped speaking, simply holding her hand tightly. He also closed his eyes, as if sending her an invisible strength.
Gradually, Janelle’s heart calmed down and she ignored all the alarming and thrilling screams around her.
Although she could feel the height when being raised, having him by her side made Janelle feel incredibly safe.
It felt as if he was sitting on a swing by the sea with her, facing the gentle sea breeze, leaning on each other, so carefree.
A few minutes later, the rocking arc of the pirate ship became smaller and eventually stopped.
Getting off the pirate ship, Janelle felt braver, she pulled Trevor along to ride roller coasters and try all sorts of thrilling activities.
Trevor accompanied her throughout, not once refusing. His psychological resilience was strong enough, and as long as she wanted, he had the time.
"Will you come to the Haunted House with me?" Janelle Mills finally dragged him to the haunted house entrance, where tickets were no longer needed. She looked at him excitedly.
Trevor looked at the girl who was breathless and eager, a smile on his lips, "Let’s go." He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and walked toward the haunted house, "They say this is a level ten horror experience."
"No problem, with you here, I’m not afraid!" she felt especially reassured.
Half an hour later.
"Ahh—! Don’t come near!!"
Janelle screamed, dragging Trevor to escape outside, then turned right into his embrace, hugging him tightly, "Gosh! Is this too realistic or what?"
"How is it realistic?" Trevor teased her while stroking her head, "Have you seen a ghost before?"
"Not at all." The girl snapped back to reality, raised her eyes, and smiled at him, today was so thrilling! Very happy!
"Huh, is it going to snow?"
"It’s getting dark." Trevor lifted his wrist to show her the time.
"It’s almost seven??" She was shocked, she really lost track of time from playing, then... she giggled a bit, feeling embarrassed.
"Do you still want to play? There’s still the ice world left." Trevor asked her.
Facing Trevor’s gaze, Janelle shook her head, "Not playing anymore, I’m a bit hungry." Leaving the ice world for another time gives a reason to come back, right?
"What do you feel like eating?" he was willing to listen to her thoughts.
She thought for a bit, "Ever experienced a roadside barbecue? Let’s have some skewers and beer?" Looking at him expectantly.
Before Trevor could answer, she swiftly dragged him away, "Come on, come on! I’ll take you to experience it once!"
Clearly, Trevor had never experienced these things.
Half an hour later, the two sat in front of a roadside stall, plates were filled with freshly grilled skewers. She picked up a skewer of lamb and handed it to him, "You try some too? Don’t just watch me eat."
Trevor took it somewhat awkwardly, his smile also turning sheepish, "..."
"You try it, you don’t usually get to eat it; the taste is actually decent, although not very clean, it’s not a daily indulgence, so it’s fine." Seeing her eating so enjoyably, Trevor had no choice but to try, even eating a skewer so gracefully.
He asked her, "How did you come across these?"
"Traveling around, making friends everywhere, adapting to local customs." Janelle Mills held up a skewer, smiling at him, "In Riventhal, this roadside stall has the most authentic lamb skewers, I really like their special cumin flavor."
As she spoke, she opened two cans of beer, happily handed him a cup, "Thanks so much for today, I haven’t had such thrilling fun in a long time; it really awakened the child in me! Come on, cheers!"
"I don’t drink." Trevor’s gaze was profound and gentle, a constant smile on his lips while chewing the just bitten lamb.
"Why?" She was puzzled, "There’s nothing wrong with beer! It won’t get you drunk."
Trevor told her, "I have to drive you home later, need to drive."
