Chapter 1310: The Emperor Is Pregnant 24
"If she has no status and can win my favor, I wouldn’t mind marrying her either."
After speaking, he looked down at her with a smile.
He found that someone seemed to be distracted, not listening to him attentively.
He pulled her into his embrace a little tighter.
Su Yan snapped back to reality.
Then, she met Situ Xiu’s gaze.
His voice was soft and subtle.
"What are you thinking about?"
Su Yan looked up and blinked.
"If the Emperor decrees that you shouldn’t marry, does that mean you don’t have to?"
She asked seriously.
Su Yan was referring to not marrying Ning Zhi.
But in Situ Xiu’s ears, he thought his little guard was worried the Emperor might stop him from marrying her.
His gaze was intense.
Suddenly, Xiao Hua’s voice echoed in his mind.
"Ding dong, congratulations to the Host, the second star has been lit."
Su Yan’s eyes lit up.
Then she heard Situ Xiu whisper softly in her ear,
"It depends on whether my future Princess is worth my rebellion."
Su Yan was taken aback.
She looked up.
"You would defy the Imperial Decree?"
Su Yan clutched her hands, wrapped like little buns.
Well, she’d have to leave tonight.
After seizing the throne, she would issue a decree to bring him into the Imperial Palace.
Su Yan thought.
Situ Xiu felt that the little guard seemed a bit less enthusiastic tonight.
Constantly distracted.
He didn’t know what ideas that wooden head could come up with.
So, before letting Su Yan go,
Situ Xiu pinned her against the door for a while before allowing her to leave.
Late at night.
Su Yan packed up a bit.
After a careful turn, she found there didn’t seem to be anything essential to bring.
Except for a dagger.
Also, that wallet.
Originally, she intended to leave at night.
But with so many Shadow Guards around,
she was afraid of being noticed.
If she was discovered before getting into the Imperial Palace, it would all be for naught.
Therefore, she waited for the morning sunlight to stream into the room.
The sky brightened.
She dressed in her guard uniform and walked out the main gate openly and uprightly.
Once she was out,
Su Yan wandered around the city in a large circle.
Finally arriving at the outskirts of the Imperial Palace.
She didn’t enter immediately.
Instead, she circled around outside the palace, looking in all directions.
By the time she finished her rounds, it was already noon.
She found a noodle shop and sat down to eat.
Xiao Hua wondered,
"Host, aren’t you going in?"
"I’ll wait till evening."
"Oh."
"Then why didn’t you come out at night instead?"
Xiao Hua’s question stumped Su Yan.
In the end, she didn’t answer, just bowed her head and continued eating her noodles.
As she ate, Su Yan suddenly heard a voice behind her.
"Miss Song?"
Su Yan took a bite of her noodles and looked up.
She saw a man dressed as a scholar, wearing finely embroidered clothing.
He had a gentle and cultured demeanor, smiling.
Su Yan blinked.
"Do we know each other?"
At first glance, he seemed somewhat familiar.
The scholar spoke,
"Miss Song, it’s me, Zhao Mu.
The one who gave you a bun that day."
Su Yan suddenly understood.
"It’s you."
Zhao Mu nodded.
"Miss Song, have you found your home?"
He asked.
Su Yan nodded.
"Yes, I found it."
Zhao Mu nodded.
"That’s good."
Speaking of which, Zhao Mu recalled seeing Su Yan being abducted from a distance that day.
His face showed concern.
"Miss Song, did the Prince do anything to you?"
Su Yan shook her head.
"No."
Hearing this, Zhao Mu let out a sigh of relief.
Then said,
"I regret not stepping forward to save you that day, Miss Song. Please allow me to offer my apologies."
