Chapter 1257 - 1256: She’s Beautiful, So It’s Her Fault?
Chapter 1257 - 1256: She’s Beautiful, So It’s Her Fault?
When Mrs. Zane saw the teachers at the school all smiling, her heart immediately filled with displeasure. So what if they’re good at studying? So what if they’re handsome? Her family has money, power, and influence. Even if Richard Shaw works his entire life, he can’t reach the starting point and height of their baby.
Mrs. Zane snorted coldly and glanced at Grandpa Zane.
The old man was still racking his brains trying to remember why this young man in front of him looked familiar. Grandpa Zane had retired long ago; before retiring, he worked at the Political Bureau, and it’s like a mountain separates him from the Military District. Moreover, Richard Shaw keeps a low profile, living in a cottage in the suburbs for many years. He had only recently returned to the Military District and never appeared on TV. The high-level meetings where he could show face were beyond the old man’s rank, which is why, although he felt he knew the face, he couldn’t remember where he’d seen him.
Seeing that the irritable old man was silent, and as for Knox Zane, who regarded his director’s position more important than anything, had been making phone calls nonstop upon arriving at the school, Mrs. Zane thought he was unreliable.
Mrs. Zane sneered and assumed a posture of reprimanding an employee in her company, angrily saying to the nearest Leah: "I’ll make two points. First, your child beat our baby so badly, causing severe inner fear and mental damage, and physical harm. We demand the school expel Casimir Shaw. Second, all our time is extremely valuable. You were two hours late, and in those two hours, I lost millions. My lawyer will send you a legal notice."
Mrs. Zane’s words were shocking: expulsion and legal threats; her combat effectiveness was off the charts.
The other three parents instantly felt confident and began making various demands one after another.
"Exactly, look how our child was beaten. We won’t accept a penny less for medical expenses, emotional damage, and nutritional fees." The other parents echoed one after another.
"It’s not about money; it’s about moral degradation and a lack of family education. We demand that Casimir Shaw apologize in front of the entire school."
"Yes, apologize, and his parents should apologize too. How did they educate their child? What good is being good-looking if you raise a child like this; they’ll become a societal menace later on." One mother looked jealously at Leah’s beauty.
Leah: ???
Was it her fault for being beautiful?
Leah’s personality had never been considered good. She was hot-tempered and had clear likes and dislikes. Seeing these parents accusing her in front of their children, her pretty face instantly turned cold. She reached out to stroke Casimir Shaw’s head, bent down, and looked at him gently, saying: "Thomas, Mommy sometimes goes dark, but you mustn’t learn from Mommy, okay?"
It was the first time Casimir Shaw had ever seen so many parents scolding them, not only scolding him but also scolding Old Shaw. The young boy felt curious. These years, being around the Shaw family’s old lady, he’d been in contact with prestigious families in the Imperial City. Outsiders approached the Shaw family with respect and fear. Why, when he hides his real identity, they treat him differently?
Are people so snobbish and unreasonable? Casimir Shaw thought about Old Shaw and great-grandmother’s constant reminders not to bully people using power, and this was why.
"Mommy, Old Shaw said we should reason things out." Casimir Shaw lifted his little head seriously, then glanced at homeroom teacher Wu, and said, "The teacher also mentioned it."
Little master, then why did you hit someone, especially a third-generation official? Teacher Wu forced a stiff smile and glanced at the principal. The principal didn’t want to get involved, seeing them handle it privately. He was just mediating, after all, the Zane family was not to be trifled with.
Reasoning? Doesn’t exist. Leah sneered, the situation had already escalated, and they expected rationality, let Richard Shaw be the rational one last.
Leah stroked the young boy’s head, her cold face peerless, looked at the four students beaten black and blue, led by a chubby kid who appeared four or five years older than Thomas, tall and stout. The three underlings behind him were also towering, whereas their Thomas, having skipped a grade, was shorter than them all.
"Leo Zane, yesterday after school, Casimir Shaw blocked the four of you at the school gate, then threatened you with crushed tomatoes, claiming he would beat you up? So then you were threatened into the alley and waited in line for your beating, correct?" Leah spoke with a half-smile.
When Leah spoke, the teachers immediately felt something was wrong. Leo Zane had transferred over two months ago; he bullied the weak and behaved atrociously without restraint, a public nuisance, and everyone knew it. Casimir Shaw never fought, was outstanding in character and learning, the situation was definitely one where Casimir Shaw was threatened and fought back.
Hateful that only Leo Zane bullied classmates so when those bullied resisted, the Zane family would come to settle accounts.
"He beat us, it was him." The chubby kid vaguely cried.
"Why did Casimir Shaw beat you? Moreover, alone against four, he never fought at school. But Leo Zane, could you count the number of students you’ve hit? It might be too many to number." Leah smiled, lifted her eyes at Mrs. Zane, and her smile turned cold. "Send a legal notice, fine, I’ll also contact those students beaten by Leo Zane before, offering free help and funding; let’s fight this case."
Before Leah’s voice faded, Mrs. Zane’s face turned ugly. Her son had beaten people for whom she’d settled via money, even the solid ones voluntarily submitted to the Zane family’s power. Mrs. Zane was too angry to think clearly, until Leah asked, making her wonder if her son brought people to hit Casimir Shaw, but got beaten instead.
But it was always her son at a disadvantage; already in this far, Mrs. Zane was determined to remain firm.
Casimir Shaw looked at Leah with admiration, his eyes bright. Mommy was really amazing.
Leah saw the other side directly put the teachers and principal aside, not inquiring about the events but convicting her son directly, clearly intending to exert power and influence for coercion.
Back when she was in the Imperial City’s circle of debutantes, she was unbeatable even in the Golden Triangle; no one dared scold her to her face.
"The truth is, Leo Zane brought your three families’ children to gang up on my son, but ended up outmatched and beaten themselves. So we demand an apology from you." Leah stated concisely, her peach blossom eyes flitting to the three families’ parents with a slight, disdainful smile.
These three families sought money; the Zane family came to vent, wanting to ruin her son’s future.
She wouldn’t let any of them off. If not for Richard Shaw sending Thomas to train at the Military District, her son could have been severely injured by these four large youths.
Apologize? Mrs. Zane instantly felt insulted, dreaming if they thought she’d apologize.
