The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love

Chapter 497: The royal confession plan

Chapter 497: The royal confession plan

Most of Mingshen’s birthday passed uneventfully. Birthday wishes kept pouring in - only for him to keep his mobile on silent mode, for he was planning the grandest event by far in his life - confession. He hadn’t yet completely forgiven Jia yet, but that didn’t put a brake on his plans.

Should I buy an entire beach? He wondered.

Privacy wouldn’t be an issue and they could enjoy fireworks at night. Confessing amidst the crashing waves of sea, with feet half-buried in the sand didn’t seem like a bad idea. Infact, he loved the idea of the salty breeze swaying the loose strands of her beautiful hair.

Or maybe on a mountain top? We will be the closest to the sky. The fireworks would look even prettier.

He already felt his heart zapping right past his ribcage, imagining how beautiful the light from the fireworks would shimmer across her face with a soft glow.

Spicy would look like a Goddess.

He paused.

She always looks like a Goddess.

Oh wait, should I book the Buckingham palace? Yeah, that would be grand. Nothing less than a royal confession for the Queen of my heart.

Mingshen was extremely proud of his idea. He gave a call to Wei.

"I have decided! It would be the Buckingham’s palace~ Nice to take Spicy on a trip too while I would be at it."

"Oh. Good. Buckingham palace is good," Wei nodded from the other side, completely blind to the problem at hand. "When are you planning to go?"

"I will need to do some preparations first~ It should be the grandest confession of all, after all."

"I see. Let me know if you need any help."

"A private jet for the trip would be great, thanks."

"The Yang family has private jets too."

"Nothing more appealing than wasting a bunch of the Mafia King’s money."

"I see," Wei gave such a bland response that it was impossible to detect whether he was amused or offended.

Mingshen hung up and called the next person to share his good news.

"Mom, it’s decided. Buckingham palace it is."

"Huh? Buckingham palace? What for?" Suddenly she gasped. "I cannot move your birthday celebration to the Buckingham palace all of a sudden!"

His brow twitched. "Who cares about my birthday celebration? I am talking about my confession to Spicy!"

"Oh my!!! Such a wonderful idea!" Yang Bingqing expressed with a hearty vigor, also being blind to the problem at hand. "Jia will be so happy. A confession in the royal palace is indeed dreamy and beautiful. So, so, when are you planning the trip?" She had now turned into her .hyperactive child mode.

"Lots of preparations to do first. Wei will be loaning the private jet."

"Wonderful. Nothing more appealing than wasting a bunch of the Zhao family’s money."

"Exactly what I said to Wei."

"But wait," her eyes narrowed. "Aren’t you sulking today?"

"I am still half sulking. The fight is not completely resolved yet. But since Spicy kissed me on the cheek last night and took responsibility for half of her actions, I have half forgiven her."

"Aish and after I told her to kiss on the lips," she pouted. "You would have forgiven her altogether had it been on the lips."

"Ugh, not really."

"Men are simple creatures," she rolled her eyes. "Trust me, had she jumped on you in bed, you would have all forgotten about what you were angry at her in the first place."

He scoffed. "I was pretty hurt, okay? Are you taking my feelings lightly?"

"Should I take them seriously? Just imagine a naked Jia in your mind and answer me honestly."

Mingshen did imagine a naked Jia seducing him and his feelings seemed to waver quite strongly.

"I would have been still mad at Spicy," he said blankly.

She sneered. "Heh. Just because I cannot see your face doesn’t mean I don’t see the horny droop on your lips. Anyway, you continue your planning, but don’t forget to get ready in time for the celebration!"

"Just cancel the celebration, Mom," he grimaced.

"No."

"You should care about the birthday boy’s wishes just a little."

"I care more about flaunting Jia to those ugly socialites~ I can finally officially call her my daughter-in-law and make everyone feel jealous."

He rolled his eyes.

"Oh and yes. Bring everyone from the lab too. Yuming is there too, right? Try to bring her as well if she is doing okay. Poor girl must be bored being cooped up in your lab as a patient."

He shrugged. "Whatever."

They hung up, and Mingshen stretched his arms with a grin on his lips.

"Hehe can’t wait to see Spicy’s expression~"

The said Spicy’s expression was nowhere near as good as one would have hoped. A tall wall of files awaited her on her desk.

"You do remember it’s Mingshen’s birthday, right? You can skip the work," Huojin grinned.

"Of course, I am not planning to finish this today, but ugh...just the volume of work is killing my shoulders already. I will at least get started and head back."

"Aish," he ruffled her head. "Don’t be late, okay? You have to get ready too. And with makeup!"

She chuckled. "You are way more worried than me. Don’t worry. I would look awesome today."

He winked. "That’s my girl."

It was two hours later when Jia closed one of the case files and yawned.

"I guess this is enough..."

She looked at the time that pointed at five forty-seven PM. The party would start at seven-thirty.

"Enough time to get dressed. With makeup," she chuckled at Huojin’s reminder.

She hadn’t ridden in the police car today, so she made her way to the nearest bus stop. She opened the zipper of her bag and stared at the gift box, her heart beats suddenly pounding hard.

It’s not too fancy but I hope he likes it...

A few minutes later, the bus came to a stop and Jia climbed in. As soon as she swiped her card for the ticket and turned, a distinct air of something predatory hit her. Hostile and dangerous. She scanned her gaze across all the passengers one by one.

I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all.

Something is wrong here. I can feel it in my bones...
