087 Long live the General!
087 Long live the General!
After saying goodbye to his three roommates, Wang Zhe, along with two girls, parted ways with his three roommates.
The midday sun was a bit too bright, and the plane trees on campus cast dappled shadows.
The three of them walked towards the science park.
Su Xiaocheng was clearly excited about the upcoming game demo, and she couldn't wait to get there. She walked with light steps, and before she knew it, she was a head ahead.
Wang Zhe and Song Zhiyi walked side by side behind, about half an arm's length apart, neither too close nor too distant, maintaining just the right social distance as ordinary classmates.
But the atmosphere between the two was far from as calm as it appeared on the surface.
Wang Zhe, with his hands in his pockets and his gaze fixed on Su Xiaocheng bouncing around in front of him, moved his lips slightly and said in a voice only those around him could hear:
"Why did you come along today?"
Song Zhiyi gazed straight ahead, her face bearing her signature gentle smile, as if admiring the campus scenery, while softly responding:
"What? You're not welcome? I came here specifically to support your career development."
"So what's going on between you and Su Xiaocheng? How did you suddenly become so close?"
Song Zhiyi turned her head and glanced at him quickly, a sly glint in her eyes.
"Girls' friendships are that simple. They can have a meal together, vent about guys, and quickly become good friends. And..."
She paused, lowering her voice even further, carrying a hint of ambiguity:
"Xiao Cheng is a pretty innocent girl, I think she'd be a good match for you. Besides, didn't you want to be that scumbag? Having a few more female confidantes around, isn't that exactly what you wanted?"
Hearing the words "confidante" come from the mouth of his wife from his previous life, Wang Zhe felt a sense of absurdity.
Just then, Su Xiaocheng, who was walking ahead, noticed that the two had fallen behind. She stopped, turned around, and shouted loudly:
"Hey! What are you two doing? Hurry up! We're almost there!"
The eye contact between Wang Zhe and Song Zhiyi was instantly interrupted.
Song Zhiyi looked away and waved to Su Xiaocheng: "You're here!"
Then, she whispered, "From what I've observed, it's almost done. Keep it up!"
Wang Zhe stood there, stunned.
Is it almost successful?
Is Su Xiaocheng about to be won over by me?
It's so easy and simple, it can't be, right?
Watching Song Zhiyi's graceful departure, and seeing her quickly catch up with Su Xiaocheng, affectionately taking Su Xiaocheng's arm, the two began chatting and laughing again.
Wang Zhe touched his nose, a helpless yet amused bitter smile playing on his lips.

The office of Xiangxueshan Technology in the Science and Technology Park.
As soon as I opened the door, a cool breeze from the air conditioner hit me.
In the office, two second-year computer science students—Zhang Hao, a chubby guy, and Li Wenjie, a bespectacled guy—were sitting in front of their computers, furiously typing away at their code, both sporting dark circles under their eyes.
The table was piled high with empty Red Bull cans and takeout boxes, and the air was filled with a unique, otherworldly atmosphere characteristic of programmers.
Zhu Qi was sitting in the main seat, looking at a printed document. Seeing Wang Zhe and the others enter, she put down the document, a relieved expression on her face.
"You've finally arrived."
Zhu Qi stood up, looking a little tired but with bright eyes. "The demo is working. Lao Zhang and I tested it a few times, and the basic logic is fine. Wang Zhe, you're the lead planner, come and check it out."
"So fast?" Wang Zhe was somewhat surprised.
Zhang Hao peeked out from behind the computer screen and chuckled, "As long as the money's there, bugs will be ripped out. We've been working all night to earn Boss Zhu's bonus."
Su Xiaocheng couldn't contain herself any longer: "Where is it? Where is it? Let me see!"
Li Wenjie handed over a test Android phone with a data cable connected: "Here. The UI hasn't been done yet; the icon is a default Android robot. Just tap it."
Wang Zhe walked over, but didn't rush to do anything. Instead, he looked at Zhu Qi first, pointed to his childhood sweetheart behind her, and introduced her:
"This is Song Zhiyi, my classmate. She came here today specifically to visit and learn from you."
Zhu Qi looked at Song Zhiyi.
The eyes of the two beautiful women with completely different auras met.
One is a handsome and capable rich second-generation heiress, and the other is a seemingly gentle and innocent childhood sweetheart next door.
Zhu Qi extended her hand generously: "Hello, I'm Zhu Qi. Welcome to visit."
Song Zhiyi politely shook hands with a proper smile: "Hello, senior, I'm Song Zhiyi. I've heard Xiao Cheng and Wang Zhe mention you many times, saying you're incredibly talented."
"You flatter me." Zhu Qi smiled, not taking the polite compliment seriously.
Everyone's attention quickly turned to the lead planner.
Wang Zhe sat down, picked up the test phone, and clicked the icon.
The screen flashed and entered a black interface without any background image. There was only a white button in the middle with the word "Start" written on it.
Wang Zhe clicked "Start".
The screen changes.
The background remains simple and black, with a white line representing a snow-covered mountain slope, a red square representing the main character, and a blue mosaic behind it representing an avalanche.
"The graphics are a bit rudimentary, and the assets haven't been added yet," Li Wenjie explained, "but the physics engine and collision logic are already written. Tap the screen to jump, and hold to do a backflip."
Wang Zhe stretched out his finger and lightly tapped the screen.
The red cube jumped up nimbly.
The feel... is surprisingly good.
There is no delay, and the feedback is very sensitive.
Wang Zhe long-pressed the screen, and the red cube spun in the air, gaining a speed boost upon landing.
He played for a while longer, testing obstacle detection and acceleration logic...
Although it lacks any artistic embellishment and feels like a half-finished product, you can already feel the smooth core experience.
"How is it?" Zhu Qi asked, a little nervously.
Wang Zhe put down his phone, looked up, and glanced around at the expectant gazes of everyone.
He slowly revealed a smile: "The skeleton is well-built. Next, it's time to dress it up and breathe life into it."
Upon hearing this compliment, the office was immediately filled with laughter and joy.
Su Xiaocheng clenched her fists: "So now I need to hurry up and get the art materials sorted out, right? Oh dear, the responsibility on my shoulders is a bit heavy..."
Song Zhiyi stood aside, quietly watching Wang Zhe, who was surrounded by the crowd.
Zhu Qi was the one who funded the project, but today, the person who made the judgment and decided whether to continue the work was Wang Zhe, who hadn't contributed a single penny. In just half a month, had he already gained the trust of Senior Zhu Qi, Su Xiaocheng, and those two senior students?
Looking at Wang Zhe's words and actions at this moment, he exudes confidence, composure, and a complete control of the situation...
Wait, something's not right!
Song Zhiyi suddenly realized that compared to Su Xiaocheng, Zhu Qi seemed to look at Wang Zhe with more fervor!
What's going on?
Song Zhiyi fell into deep thought.
At this moment, Zhu Qi suddenly announced, "Next week is the National Day holiday. To celebrate our current work achievements, I've decided that our company will have a team-building activity. The tentative plan is a trip to West Lake, a two- or three-day tour. What do you think?"
Zhang Hao asked, "Are you paying for it?"
Zhu Qi gave an affirmative answer: "The company will cover all expenses."
The company's money was paid by her, which obviously meant that all expenses for this trip would be paid by Young Master Zhu.
Immediately, even more enthusiastic cheers erupted in the office.
"Long live the General!"
"That's awesome!"
