Chapter 447: The disastrous life of Edward Newgate.
Chapter 447: The disastrous life of Edward Newgate.
[Edward POV]
Modern day Japan. S-Prefecture. A plane flew by the city. Kids were running around in their uniforms.
"This place is fictional, right?"
I looked around and saw people with natural, colourful hair. Green hairs, blue hair, purple hairs.
"Wait. Since I’m in it, that means it’s real." I muttered as I took a look around.
"I’m too tall here." I realized it when I walked down the street. Everyone was looking in my direction, whispering, "Giant" and "Gaijin".
"Let’s change a little."
Using my transformation jutsu, I changed my appearance a little bit. Not changing my face, but my body.
My muscles compressed, my bones shrunk, and I turned into a 5 ’11 pretty boy. With hair the shade of white, lean body figure, and my silver chain, I looked pretty rough and tumble.
I even paired up a lip ring, just for fun. Now, I am Emo Gojo Satoru.
Without bringing anything with me, my starting point was a bit harder. I didn’t have any AI to give me one million bucks, or create an identity for me.
I had to check the newspaper to see the date.
"It’s 27th June 2018."
"So, it’s summer... Is the school term over yet?"
Japan’s school system was a bit different. They entered in April, so it was separated into three terms. School just started here, so my worries were useless.
Unlike America where school would end around summer.
"I should find Saiki. But first, I need to check something."
I opened up a portal to go to America. More accurately, my childhood home. I wanted to see if there was another me in this universe.
And to my surprise, there was another me.
"Too bad he didn’t survive." I stood at the grave, seeing my own name on the tombstone.
{Edward Newgate. He was gone too soon.}
{May 4th 1995– April 2nd 2009}
I checked on my family situation, and found my grandpa had died. My grandma also died. My dad died from heavy drinking. My mother died in Cuba.
"Damn." I muttered with shock. "My cousin has become a pornstar."
I saw a thumbnail where Maggie was sitting on the couch and five black guys standing behind it.
"This is sickening." I held my hurting stomach and went to search for Maggie and Amy.
Unfortunately, all I found was grave too. Maggie died in a car crash.
"Hold on. So, all of my family were dead?"
Uncle Jim, Aunt May, Uncle Aaron. Everyone had died. The ranch was taken by the government and sold in an auction.
"This is... quite depressing." I said with a solemn expression.
I did find someone who’s still alive. Amy, my youngest cousin. She was in the car with Maggie, and was in a coma for two years now.
I sat next to her in the hospital ward and heard the doctors saying she was gone.
Holding her hands, I transferred some of my chakra to her to check if she was truly unsavable.
My eyes flickered instantly. "She can be saved." I mumbled.
Using a chakra scalpel, I inserted a thin chakra blade through her eyes, into her brain.
The chakra blade began disintegrating the blood clots, fixing her neural pathway, and reviving her brain again.
It would take some time for her to wake up, therefore I set up a rune in the ward to make sure no one would disturb her.
"Lastly, she’s too malnourished."
I sent out a huge Yang energy into her body, which helped with the repairs. Then, I left.
"What about the others?"
I checked on my friends, and none of them existed. Modern Family wasn’t a thing here, not a tv series or a real thing.
There were a few of them here, but they were actors, not real characters.
"There’s nothing familiar to me here. It’s kinda sad."
As I sat on the park bench, thinking about my own death, I realized I needed something.
"A valid identification, and some money."
It was 2018, so it was easy for me to make money online– if I bought my AI. I hacked into the National Registry and created something for me.
For money, I did the easiest thing for me to gain some money. Selling patents.
Using my sharingan, I set up an appointment with a CEO of a pharmaceutical company and sold the HIV cure for 20 million dollars.
I funneled the money to an international bank account I just created, so I could easily bring it to Japan.
"That took me like an hour. I’m losing my touch." I mumbled.
...
PK Academy. The place where the main character studies. I went to the teacher’s office and met Matsuzaki, a gym teacher.
"Huh? Who are you?" He asked in his language.
I replied with perfect Japanese, "Excuse me. I’m supposed to be transferring to the school but I got mugged at the airport. I lost all of my luggages and documents."
"What?!" He stood up urgently, passionately shouting, "You got robbed?!"
Every teacher in the office turned toward us. I nodded, faking some tears, "Yeah. They even took my great great grandfather’s watch. I thought Japanese people were nice, but it turned out I was greatly mistaken."
"No–NO!" Matsuzaki became restless. "Did you call the cops?"
"Yeah, I have reported it to the cops." I told him and took out a police report.
I wasn’t faking it, I did go to the cops to report it. However, I have hypnotized the officers a little bit.
I needed some legitimacy so the report mentioned my identity was already confirmed and I was really a transfer student.
"Don’t– Don’t worry..." he checked my form and said, "Your name is Gojo Satoru?"
"Yeah, that’s me." I replied with a smile.
"You look American." He said with confusion.
"I’m half American and half Japanese. My dad is Japanese." I lied smoothly.
Matsuzaki was convinced and said, "Alright. I’ll process the paperwork right now. Why don’t I bring you to class first?"
I celebrated inwardly. I picked the main character’s class, Year 2 Class 3 for 16 year olds.
The teacher interrupted the class and introduced me as a transfer student.
"Class. This is Gojo Satoru. He’s a transfer student from America."
Everyone exclaimed in disbelief. "A Yankee?" Someone said in shock.
I scanned the classroom and saw him. The pink haired boy with antennas on his head.
Saiki Kusuo. The high school overpowered psychic kids.
He noticed me and frowned. My eyes glowed slightly as I established a mental connection with him.
’So, can you read my mind?’ I asked casually.
Saiki’s eyes shook, and he stood up abruptly.
"Oh! What’s the matter, Saiki?" Matsuzaki was astonished when Saiki suddenly stood up. Everyone turned to him with confusion. "Do– Do you have something to say?"
It was definitely a shock to the teacher since Saiki was usually a reserved kid in class.
He spoke using telepathy, but no one realized it and thought he was speaking normally.
"{I’m sorry. I made a mistake.}" He bowed his head to apologize slightly.
I smirked mischievously and said, "It’s not a mistake. I would react the same way too if I knew my half brother came to Japan and entered the same class as me."
Everyone gasped in shock.
Saiki’s gaze turned serious and menacing. He spoke to me using telepathy, ’Oi. I don’t know who you are, but don’t cause trouble.’
"Sa–Sa–Sa–Saiki-kun, you have a half brother?" His blue haired wimpy friend who has bandages on his hand whispered to him in shock.
"{He’s not my half brother}" Saiki said decisively. However, that made the people gossip even more.
"Uh... Gojo-kun, why don’t you take a seat first?" Matsuzaki said wryly. I smiled and said, "Alright. I’ll go sit next to the guy with a funny face."
I walked to Nendo, the kid with buttchin, a shaved hairline, and a dyed reverse mohawk. He also has a long scar in his eye.
"Huh? Who’s the guy with a funny face?" Nendo asked around dumbly. Hairo, the class rep, a muscular guy with a bandaid on his nose retorted, "That’s you."
The class went on as usual. But I could see Saiki was getting antsy.
As soon as the bell for the break rang, Saiki grabbed my collar and dragged me to the stairwell.
Everyone was being gossipy again, and thought he was going to beat me up.
"{Who are you, you bastard?}" Saiki confronted me.
I held my chin in amusement and said, "You’re really talking to me with telepathy. I wonder why no one noticed this before."
He went silent, expecting an answer. He wasn’t really a good conversionist so I helped him a bit.
"Well, to explain it simply. I’m a traveller from an alternate timeline."
"Huh?" He was confused, his face showed traces of disdain.
I chuckled, "You didn’t believe me huh? Well, I found out I’m dead here, so I was amusing myself a bit with the joke. I’m sorry for that."
"{... You’re dead?}" He was slightly skeptical.
I nodded and said, "Not only me, but my parents, my grandparents, even my aunt, uncles and cousin were all dead. So I’m a bit depressed."
"{I don’t trust you.}"
"Do you want to see my grave?" I waved my hand around in a circular motion and opened up a portal to my grave. Saiki widened his eyes in shock and asked, "{You have other abilities?}"
"Why are you so surprised? You have dozens of them too, right?"
He went silent for a bit. "{You’re really a traveller?}" He asked, slightly accepting the situation.
He had travelled to a different timeline before, so he has some experience.
"Yeah man." I said casually. "Don’t worry. I’m only here for a week. Then, I’m gone."
Saiki went silent for quite some time, his mind was busy trying to understand everything.
Suddenly, a blue haired girl walked towards us. She was quite beautiful, and seemingly had a golden glow around her.
The beautiful Bishoujo, Teruhashi Kokomi.
"Saiki-kun. It’s almost time for the bell to ring." She said cautiously. She smiled at me and said, "Good morning, Gojo Satoru-kun."
As she flashed her charming smile, my heart beat quicker.
"Ani-chan, there seems to be a metaphysical pressure trying to force me to say ’Oh’. Is this normal?" I asked Saiki with confusion.
He snorted slightly, which shocked Teruhashi.
"Saiki-kun’s laughing?" She covered her mouth.
Saiki returned to his earlier demeanour and said, "{Don’t call me Ani-chan.}"
"Then, ’Aniki’?" I teased.
"{You’re not my brother.}" He said quickly and decisively.
"You’re so funny Aniki." I teased.
Saiki glared at me menacingly. My runes told me about Amy waking up, therefore I decided to abandon school and go back to the United States.
"Hey, my cousin is waking up from a coma. I’m going to go check on her now. Tell the teacher I had left to go to the police to get my stuff back." I whispered to Saiki.
"{You’re ditching after the first period?}" He looked at me with disbelief.
I smiled and said, "I graduated school at 14. I won two Nobel Prizes at 17. I don’t really need to study."
Saiki was flabbergasted for the first time. But since his brother was also a genius with 218 IQ, he accepted it and left to go back to class.
Even though he was basically a god, Saiki wanted a normal, low-key life. We’re really different in that context.
I went back to Wisconsin and visited my cousin in the ward. The doctor had checked her brain, and found her recovery to be nothing short of a miracle.
Except, Amy has dead eyes after listening to that. She looked like someone who wanted to die and resented the fact that she had returned to the world.
A nun stayed by her side, trying to help her to come to term with everything.
However, I burst into the door abruptly, which shocked everyone there.
"Yo, Amy." I greeted casually.
"Who are you? You can’t be here!" The nun was shocked by my appearance and wanted to kick me out.
Amy’s face froze, and her eyes began tearing up. "E–Eddy?" She said with a dry voice, reaching out to me weakly from the bed.
"Yeah. It’s me." I walked towards her casually and grabbed her hand. She clawed on my skin and pulled herself towards me, grabbing my shirt and pulling herself up to hug me.
"EDDY~" She cried, sobbing mournfully.
"Who-Who are you?" The nurses who heard the commotion asked after rushing to the ward.
"I’m her cousin." I replied.
"Cousin? No one visited her for over a year." She said, a bit disgruntled and mad at me.
I smiled wryly and said, "Blame the CIA for that."
"CIA?" The nun and the nurse were confused. Amy kept crying until she passed out again. She was still too weak to handle the meeting.
Although I knew I could give her some hope with my appearance, I couldn’t help but think what would happen when I left after a week.
’Did I make a mistake coming here? Should I just let her go?’
...
Japan, after school. I hung out with Saiki, and the two other psychics in a coffee shop that served coffee jelly.
Saiki enjoyed the coffee jelly greatly. He let go of all of his anger and was enjoying the blissful taste.
"So, you’re a multiversal traveller?" the Gyaru with big tits asked excitedly.
"That’s right Mikoto Aiura." I replied with a smile. She kept pressing her body on mine as she took pictures with me. I posed with her, enjoying the carefree time while the other psychic was quite shocked.
"Saiki-san. There’s no ghost around him." Toritsuka Reita, the spirit medium who grew up in a buddhist temple but was still a huge pervert. "I can’t ask them what he’s like."
"Don’t worry! I can see his aura as long as Saiki goes away for a little bit. Then, we can find out if he’s a good guy or not." Mikoto said cheerfully.
I didn’t mind them trying to figure things out. It would make things easier once they did.
Saiki teleported away, and came back three minutes later.
"{Yare Yare, what happened here? Why are both of you kneeling down?}" Saiki asked with exasperation.
Both of them were in Dogeza mode, with Toritsuka humming a buddhist mantra.
"Kusuo, he’s a good man. He’s a saint! A GOD!" Mikoto said fanatically.
"{What did you see, Aiura?" Saiki asked her.
I leaned back, casually drinking my coffee.
"A 200 Meter tall goliath, with wings. It carried a sword of judgement, and a musical instrument." Aiura said urgently, sweat beading on her cleavage.
"Not only that, he has a saint’s halo all around him," Toritsuka said frantically. "He’s sending ghosts to the afterlife by his presence alone!"
"What should we do Saiki-san? If he keeps being around, my ability will turn useless!" Toritsuka shouted.
"{That seems to bother you more than the ghost disappearing.}" He retorted to Toritsuka.
"My screen presence is already low enough! If my ability becomes useless, then my screen time will drop down to zero!" He shouted.
I snorted in amusement and said casually, "Don’t worry about the ghosts. My aura sent them to the afterlife so they can get reincarnated."
"{So it’s normal for you?}" Saiki asked.
I nodded and said, "Yeah, it’s normal."
"What else can you do?" Mikoto asked, acting as if she wasn’t kneeling before. Now, her breath became slightly quicker, her face slightly flustered. She was quite turned on.
"I can duplicate myself. Fly. Cut a mountain with a sword. Hypnotise. Illusion. Healing, but this is not all powerful. More like, skill based..."
"{Stop–}" Saiki stopped me before I could continue. "{You shouldn’t list out everything.}"
"Kusuo, his ability sounds similar to yours." Mikoto Aiura said cheekily. "You can do most of that."
"Well, he didn’t have Pyrokinesis, Precognition, Invisibility, Time Travelling, Time Manipulation, Telepathy, Mind Control, Petrifying Gaze, Morphing–"
"{Why are you the one who’s listing out my abilities?}" Saiki retorted to Toritsuka, punishing him by pushing him down with telekinesis.
I laughed and said, "Wow, Saiki-kun. You’re really amazing."
"You too are really amazing!" Mikoto Aiura took out a glass ball and began to read my fortune. "You saved a couple of worlds? You fought against a zombie horde? Cure zombie virus?--"
"You can see all that?" I was shocked when she was listing out my achievements.
"Yeah!" Mikoto said with excitement. "He cured a lot of diseases, saved billions of people. Kusuo, he’s better than you at using his ability! You’re only using it for daily life stuff, like fixing your parent’s relationship."
"{Shut up! I’m not a hero. If I start to focus on every single flaw of the world, I wouldn’t be able to rest.}" He snapped.
I rubbed the back of my head and said, "Well. What he’s saying is kinda true. If I could get some rest in my world, I wouldn’t have come here."
"{See?}" Saiki agreed with me and sat back down. "{There’s a side effect that came with the ability. You can pick whether you want a normal life, or a really chaotic life. He picked the latter.}"
Mikoto pursed her lips and hugged my arms. "Hey, why don’t you tell me what you have done in your world? I’m really curious about it. Did you have a girlfriend?"
My runes told me about Amy. "I’m sorry Mikoto. I need to go meet my cousin."
"{I thought they died?}" Saiki asked.
"One of them was in a coma. I helped her to heal this morning." I told him casually. "Saiki-san. Do you want to marry my cousin? It will help me a lot."
Saiki froze in shock. Mikoto grabbed Saiki and complained like a mistress, "No~ Kusuo! You should be marrying me!"
Saiki punished her instantly.
