Chapter 764 - 735: Love Across Parallel Worlds [057]
Simon Forrester took Sienna Thorne to find Maeve.Sitting in the car, Sienna Thorne was pondering Gage Grant’s idea of buying property in South Bay. The more she thought about it, the more suspicious it seemed, so she mentioned it to Simon Forrester.
Simon Forrester laughed out loud: "Fourth Master Grant hates the entertainment industry the most. How could he be a Head Fan?"
"But didn’t he just say he was buying the property for an idol?"
Simon Forrester smirked: "His idol is probably some womanizer expert or big-shot stock trader."
"Is that so? Maybe I was overthinking it."
The car headed to the place where they had arranged to meet Maeve.
Despite the freezing weather that night, many young men and women were out celebrating New Year’s Eve, and the streets in the early hours didn’t seem deserted at all, bustling with excitement.
Sienna Thorne toyed with the little tassels on her scarf, her bright eyes gazing out the window, her mind running wild. Suddenly, she remembered Simon Forrester’s three friends she had seen in the bar earlier and asked, "Are your friends all married? Were those girls they brought their wives? But they didn’t introduce them."
Simon Forrester smiled sarcastically: "None of them are married, and I haven’t heard them having partners. Those three girls are probably just for fun."
"What?" Sienna Thorne was shocked, "Is that even possible?"
"It’s just mutual needs."
Sienna Thorne exclaimed softly, "Oh my, will they still be like this after they get married?"
Simon Forrester was focused on driving and glanced sideways at his girlfriend, who was in questioning mode, and smiled, "Once they find someone they want to marry, they usually won’t fool around outside. Disrespecting their wives means disrespecting themselves and their families. They wouldn’t do that."
Sienna Thorne let out a relieved sigh, "That’s good. But the women who marry them might feel uneasy knowing their husbands were so wild before marriage."
Simon Forrester chuckled and casually said, "Who wouldn’t think so? Discipline and restraint are the highest form of lasting joy."
While he was earnestly driving, the girl in the passenger seat pretended to ask casually, "What about you then?"
He reflexively asked, "Me, what?"
"You said last time you haven’t had a girlfriend," the girl’s voice lowered, "do you play around with girls during your single periods like they do?"
He was stunned for a moment, then a faint smile appeared.
"How should I explain this to you?" The car’s lights shone through the windshield onto his face, casting colorful hues in his dark bright eyes.
After pondering for a moment, he said, "Emotions of joy and pleasure are primarily driven by dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins. While interacting with the opposite sex can generate these emotions, so can exercise. So not everyone chooses to find happiness and pleasure through meeting the opposite sex."
He hinted, rather obliquely, that he derived emotional pleasure from exercise, which sounded more persuasive than saying "I don’t mess with women."
Sienna Thorne not only fully accepted his explanation but was particularly convinced, gazing at him with bright, adoring eyes, "You’re so special and pure! Like a lotus that remains unstained from the mud, not sleazy at all!"
Selina Forrester: "..."
Just a week ago, she was throwing a fit because he forgot to close a curtain when talking to a female subordinate, and now she’s saying he’s not sleazy at all.
Simon Forrester couldn’t help but smile, raising his hand to ruffle Sienna Thorne’s hat, "Thank you for your trust."
The car passed a traffic light, and Sienna Thorne pointed to a car ahead with its hazard lights on, "That’s the one with the hazards on."
As they got closer, Simon Forrester finally saw it was a black Audi with government plates.
Without a doubt, it was Quentin Thorne’s. But that license plate was so showy, driving around like this might not be appropriate.
He parked the car behind the Audi, pulled up the handbrake, unbuckled his seatbelt, and turned to Sienna Thorne, "During these days around New Year, let’s find some time and I’ll take you car shopping."
Instinctively, Sienna Thorne wanted to refuse, but before she could speak, Simon Forrester added, "If you refuse, I’ll buy an SUV just like mine for you, black as well."
In her mind, the image of Simon Forrester’s big, tall, and imposing buffalo-like SUV immediately appeared, and she quickly exclaimed, "No... Yours isn’t good-looking, I don’t like it..."
Simon Forrester laughed, "Then what kind do you like?"
She thought for a while and said, "A hatchback, maybe. It takes up less space, looks more delicate, and suits girls better."
Realizing she’d fallen into Simon Forrester’s trap, she quickly corrected herself, "No, no, I haven’t decided yet. I’ll think about it some more, just don’t buy it yet..."
"Got it, we’ll discuss it in a few days." Simon Forrester hugged her and kissed her forehead, "Go home and get some rest. Call me tomorrow when you’re not busy."
She gave him a quick kiss in return and ran out of the car with a blushing face.
Simon Forrester quickly got out, chased after her, and made sure she safely got in the car. Then he drove his car, following behind until Sienna Thorne and Maeve were safely inside the Thorne Family villa, and then drove back to his apartment in the New District.
...
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Sienna Thorne went to grandma’s house with her parents. On the morning of the second day, they returned to the countryside to visit her maternal grandma. On the third day, Quentin Thorne went out to pay New Year’s visits to his superiors and colleagues, finally giving Sienna Thorne some freedom. She called Simon Forrester to hang out during the day, but he also had to pay New Year’s visits to his elders.
After three days without seeing each other, she missed him a lot. During the evening, before her school reunion ended, she messaged him, saying she was attending a class reunion.
Simon Forrester quickly replied, saying he had just finished his errands and was on his way.
When he arrived, Sienna Thorne and her classmates had finished eating and moved to the KTV, which was conveniently inside the hotel, so he quickly found their private room.
In the KTV hallway, off-key singing echoed everywhere, and Simon Forrester leaned against the door, waiting for Sienna Thorne.
A while later, Sienna Thorne, dressed in a red sweater with a flushed face, came running out of the private room next door. As soon as she saw him, she started giggling foolishly, "You’re here?"
He walked over to hold her hand and noticed the scent of alcohol on her breath, his expression immediately turning sour, "Have you been drinking?"
"... I had a little red wine during dinner. It’s no big deal, I’m still sober."
Seeing her slightly floating speech and thinking about how she once said even a rio would make her drunk, Simon Forrester was a bit concerned, his tone slightly stern, "Is it ending soon? I’ll take you home."
"No, we just got here. Will you come in and sit for a while?"
"Sure."
Simon Forrester held her hand, pushed open the door to the private room, just as a spotlight shone on them. When people saw them holding hands, a few mischievous male classmates whistled.
Simon Forrester put away his seriousness, smiled, and nodded to everyone.
After exchanging pleasantries for a bit, the lingering effects of the alcohol hit Sienna Thorne, and she slumped softly against Simon Forrester. He whispered to her, "Why don’t we leave now?"
Her face was flushed, her eyes dazed, but she nodded.
