Chapter 761 - 732: Love Across Parallel Worlds [054]
Sienna lay in Simon Forrester’s arms, whimpering, "You’re talking nonsense. How could I not like you? I like you very much, that’s why I’m so sad..."Simon Forrester’s lips curved into a smile as he softly comforted her, "Alright, I understand."
She loved her pride more than him, which was normal. He didn’t want a girl who had no principles in love.
Sienna cried for a while, releasing the pressure she had been under for some time, and calmed down. After wiping away her tears, she said calmly, "Actually, I was overreacting too. It’s because my dad kept opposing us. I’ve been under too much pressure, and my emotions were bad. That’s why I stubbornly refused to listen to your explanation that day."
Simon Forrester laughed, "So you just wanted to find something to fight about with me that day, to vent?"
She pouted and nodded.
"Silly girl," he hugged her again, "I didn’t think things through. I’m sorry I made you suffer during this time."
She sniffled, feeling wronged, "It was really tough. I lost a few pounds, you see, my face has become sharper."
"Your waist is also slimmer, more slender." His voice suddenly deepened, holding her tighter, "Annie, I missed you."
"You miss me but don’t even call..." The rest of her words were taken away by his kiss.
The two of them cozied up in the car for a while until Sienna’s phone rang, and she hurriedly pushed Simon Forrester away.
Seeing that it was Quentin Thorne calling, she was startled and didn’t dare to answer, fearing that Quentin would want Maeve to speak as well. The call ended after ringing for a minute, and she quickly called Maeve, asking her to hurry to the South Bay Hotel.
Once Maeve arrived, Sienna promptly called Quentin back with a video call, and had Maeve appear on screen. Quentin inquired about the contract signing, reminded them to be careful, and then ended the call.
Sienna breathed a sigh of relief, cheerfully running back to Simon Forrester who was waiting nearby.
They held hands, whispering intimately. Harrison Rowe, seeing this, looked pleased and complained to Maeve about how he had been Simon Forrester’s punching bag for the past half month.
Maeve curiously asked, "How much is your annual salary?"
Harrison looked at Simon Forrester walking ahead, raised a finger, and mouthed, "A hundred."
Maeve laughed, "Including commission?"
Harrison shook his head.
Maeve patted him on the shoulder, "Just endure it for the money then."
The four entered the hotel lobby, Simon Forrester handed his documents to Harrison, who went to check them in. Before leaving, Harrison politely asked, "Ms. Lester and Lawyer Thorne, may I have your documents as well? I’ll handle it together."
Sienna glanced at Simon Forrester but didn’t speak.
"I’ll go with Assistant Rhodes," Maeve said, and then left with Harrison.
Simon Forrester led Sienna to a sofa, whispering in her ear, "Stay with me tonight?"
Sienna blushed and shook her head, "No, I have to stay with Maeve..."
"After she falls asleep, you can come find me..."
"No..."
Sienna insisted, and Simon Forrester smiled, not pushing her further.
Harrison and Maeve returned with the room keys, handing over a presidential suite card to Simon Forrester. The group took the elevator to their respective floors.
Maeve had booked a standard room, so they got off the elevator earlier than Simon Forrester.
Just before exiting the elevator, Sienna and Simon Forrester were still holding hands. She tried to pull away but couldn’t, as Simon held her hand tightly. Finally, it was Maeve’s reminder that made Simon reluctantly let go of Sienna’s hand.
On their way to the room, seeing Sienna looking dejected, Maeve smiled, "Do you miss being with him that much?"
Sienna pouted, "We just got back together, our feelings are naturally warm."
"Have you guys...?"
Sienna was stunned, and after a few seconds, turned red, unsure whether to nod or shake her head.
Maeve laughed aloud, "I get it." With that, she ran off.
Sienna chased after her urgently, "It’s not what you think...!"
.
There weren’t any good restaurants in Downtown South Bay, so Maeve suggested having a buffet at the hotel.
To give the re-energized Simon Forrester more alone time with Sienna, every time Maeve went to get food, Harrison followed along, keeping her engaged in conversation to create opportunities for Simon and Sienna.
However, in a public setting, Simon and Sienna weren’t really in the mood for flirting. They ate quietly, occasionally chatting a bit.
During this time, Simon mentioned that he planned to visit the Thorne Family’s parents personally on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year and asked Sienna to remind her parents on the fourth.
Sienna was curious, "Why the fifth day of the Lunar New Year?"
Simon smiled, placing a piece of beef on her plate, "I’ll tell you then. Don’t worry, it’ll work out."
"Alright." Although she didn’t know what Simon was planning, his confident tone reassured her, easing the pressure she had felt recently.
After a while, Simon added, "Once your parents agree, we should arrange for the families to meet soon."
Sienna blushed, stirring her milkshake shyly, "Why so soon..."
"Hmm." Simon just smiled, saying no more.
They chatted quietly for a few more moments before Harrison and Maeve returned, and the conversation shifted to the design of the inn.
Previously, due to the tension with Simon, Sienna and Maeve decided to pause development. Now that she and Simon reconciled, the idea of developing the inn was stirring again, especially with a ready architect boyfriend to help.
However, they agreed that the inn was their business and didn’t require other investors. They tasked Harrison to draft 2-3 plans within their budget for them to choose from. Harrison readily agreed, promising to deliver the plans before the New Year so they could start construction after if satisfied.
Maeve quickly said, "Starting after the New Year is too rushed. We still need to get the land certificate and apply for a bank loan. Whether the loan goes through is uncertain, we can’t start after the New Year."
Sienna nodded, "Maeve’s right, this can’t be rushed."
Harrison didn’t respond, glancing at Simon to leave the stage for the leader.
Simon, leisurely swallowing his steak, took a sip of soda, put down the glass, and smiled, "There’s no rush with the construction payment, it can wait until completion or until you’re ready with funds."
Maeve raised an eyebrow, "Is that possible?"
Simon grinned at Sienna, holding her hand under the table, "Of course. This project is partially Annie’s, everything is negotiable."
Sienna hesitated, "Isn’t this inappropriate? The design firm isn’t solely yours, and the construction payment can’t be delayed..."
Simon said firmly, "It’s fine, I’ll handle it, don’t worry."
Harrison, aware that the leader intended to cover the cost himself, instantly felt jealous.
What an understanding, overbearing CEO—he wanted one too!
