Chapter 1341 - 1336: Julia Zabinski Asks, Did You Really Arrange the Car Accident? (2000+ Revised)
Nicholas Croft instructed Assistant Tang to call Harry Zachary, urging him to speed up. Harry said he arranged to meet Hannah Hargrave in the evening but was rejected.Nicholas Croft knew it was because his mother was present. Hannah wanted to portray a good daughter-in-law image before his mother, hence her refusal... To quickly unveil Hannah’s true colors, he had to send his mother back to her hometown.
Nicholas Croft squinted his dark eyes and picked up his phone to call home.
"Strange, it’s your big brother, I’ve got something I’d like your help with..."
Julia Zabinski had just gotten out of the car when she received a call from her youngest son. As soon as the call connected, Damian Croft urgently said, "Mom, hurry back home, something happened! Tongtong said dad has been frequently meeting up with an aunt who dances at the square in the evenings the past few days. That aunt even helps dad wipe his sweat. Their relationship looks suspicious..."
"Impossible, your dad is an old relic who doesn’t attract women." Julia Zabinski interrupted Damian before he finished talking, laughing it off. Damian raised his voice again, "How is it impossible? Tongtong said they were even holding hands. Kids are sensitive, you should come back quickly. If dad really cheats, it will be too late!"
Julia Zabinski...
Her steps paused as she was about to enter the courtyard, "Tongtong really said that?"
"Is there any mistake?"
"But your big brother’s situation..."
"Mom, big brother’s issues can’t be solved overnight. You should come back first and keep an eye on dad, or it might really be disgraceful later!"
"Alright, alright, I’ll book a ticket to return tomorrow."
Julia Zabinski nodded in agreement and hurriedly walked into the villa.
In the evening, after Hannah Hargrave returned from work, she saw her mother-in-law in the kitchen with Aunt Wang preparing dinner. After changing clothes, she rolled up her sleeves and entered the kitchen.
"Mom, is there anything I can help with?"
"No, no, go out quickly. There’s a lot of smoke and grease here, dinner will be ready soon." Julia Zabinski pushed Hannah out of the kitchen, but she followed back in.
"Mom, you see, I’m not a guest, why be so polite?"
Seeing Hannah’s insistence, Julia Zabinski didn’t refuse again, "Alright, take the cutlery out, the soup is almost ready."
Hannah took three sets of dishes and utensils. During Nicholas Croft’s time abroad, she prohibited Aunt Wang from dining with her. Today, she did so to please her mother-in-law.
Julia Zabinski was an impatient person who couldn’t hide things. At the dinner table, looking at Hannah dutifully serving her food, she hesitated but still voiced her doubts.
"Hannah, was it really you who arranged the accident for Sophie Foster?"
Hannah...
Her hand gesturing to serve Julia froze, the ladle paused in mid-air.
Aunt Wang also paused her eating action, looking over in surprise. Hannah smiled, continued serving the soup and placed it in front of Julia, "Mom, what are you saying? I don’t understand."
"I mean Nicholas’s former woman who was in a car accident. They say you ordered someone to do it." Julia explained again. Hannah sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and continued serving food for Julia, calmly asking, "Mom, who are ’they’? Was it Nicholas?"
Aunt Wang continued to eat, having roughly understood. No wonder Little May resented this new lady, turns out...
Knowing Julia Zabinski was straightforward, Aunt Wang deliberately dropped her rice bowl before Julia could say anything further, causing half a bowl of rice to spill onto the table and scatter, "Oh dear, sorry, sorry, really, getting old is useless, can’t even hold a bowl..."
Aunt Wang quickly stood up, continually picking up the mess, Hannah glanced at her displeased but said nothing out of respect for Julia.
Julia also stood up, headed to the kitchen to get a trash can, muttering, "It’s okay, Sister Wang, everyone gets old. Don’t blame yourself too much."
"Sorry, Madam, look at me..." Aunt Wang smiled awkwardly at Hannah. Hannah forced a slight smile, "It’s alright."
Aunt Wang secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thankfully she reacted fast enough to distract from the conversation. Madam’s intelligence is really worrying.
After dinner, Hannah pretended to have company business she forgot to manage and hurriedly left the house, driving to Harry Zachary’s residence.
"Coming over so late, is it because you missed me?" Harry joked as Hannah entered.
"You can still laugh!" Hannah glared at him, unhappy, and walked into the apartment directly with her high heels.
"What’s wrong? Did something happen?" Harry closed the door and walked over, unconcerned.
Hannah suddenly turned, stared coldly at him and asked, "Can the man you found be trusted? Did he tell anyone about the car accident?"
Harry Zachary...
Hesitated a moment, walked over and stood in front of Hannah, hands on her shoulders, "Did someone say something? It’s been so long, why think of this now?"
"Don’t digress!"
Hannah impatiently pushed Harry’s hands away, "Is that man reliable or not?"
Harry sighed, turned and sat on the sofa.
"If he wasn’t reliable, could we still be standing here talking now?"
Hannah squinted her eyes as if contemplating, thought for a while before tossing her handbag onto the sofa and sat back, staring ahead, eyes still squinted.
"Today Nicholas’s mother asked me whether I arranged the accident for Sophie Foster. I think it must be Nicholas who told her!"
Harry’s eyes briefly flashed something, then quickly smiled casually, placing an arm around Hannah’s shoulder.
"What if he said it? He has no evidence anyway. If he had evidence, he would’ve sued us long ago."
Hannah turned her head, "You really didn’t leak anything?"
"Rest assured, we’re like two grasshoppers tied with the same string. Betraying you means betraying myself."
Hannah...
Gazed sharply at Harry, seemingly searching for signs on his face, Harry continuously maintained a faint smile.
Withdrawing her gaze, Hannah took a breath and before standing up said, "Investigate more into Genevieve Croft’s background. She seems to know something."
The other day, when wrapping her hand, she said it was for Genevieve. If Genevieve didn’t look different from Sophie Foster, Hannah even suspected she was Sophie herself.
"Okay, I’ll do that." Harry nodded in agreement, Hannah stood up too, "Alright, I’ll head back first. Hurry and investigate."
"Don’t you want to stay, Hannah?"
Harry stood up too, grabbed Hannah’s wrist, and gently caressed her face with his hand.
Hannah glanced coldly at him and rudely countered, "You think I’m in the mood now?"
After saying that, she shook off Harry’s hand, grabbed her handbag, and made her way to the door on her high heels.
Watching Hannah’s back, Harry slowly narrowed his eyes. Director Croft said if he couldn’t get what he wanted within three days, the police would charge him with smuggling drugs.
His eyes suddenly widened, Harry got up and chased after her, trying to make a last-ditch plea.
