Chapter 1043 - 1042: Why Me
"What’s wrong, kid? Didn’t sit tight and slipped down?" Hao Jiacheng laughed heartily.Jing Changle lay on the rock, pointing at Hao Meili but was stunned. Hao Meili at this moment was quite different from earlier, only giving him a faint smile.
Luo Yirui guessed what was going on, stopped playing with the water, walked over, and glanced back. No one else noticed Jing Changle, they just thought he had fallen.
"What happened?" Luo Yirui asked.
Jing Changle watched Hao Meili turn and walk away, still with a look of panic on his face, and whispered, "I can be sure now that Hao Rong’s aunt definitely knows about its existence!"
Luo Yirui was slightly surprised but did not question Jing Changle’s statement, as he had more or less the same feeling.
He glanced back, knowing no one could hear them, and lowered his voice, "This time Hao Meili insisted on coming, there might be a reason. I don’t know if it’s its reason or her reason."
Jing Changle pondered for a moment, "Ever since we entered the mountains, Hao Rong’s aunt always stared at the sky in a daze, I don’t know what she’s thinking about, and I’ve seen her often look very lonely. I think we should pay more attention."
Luo Yirui chuckled; he had gotten caught up in playing and momentarily forgot about Hao Meili.
Despite reminding himself not to be careless, during their interactions over time, he still unwittingly relaxed. It’s hard to stay too alert around someone who’s a simpleton; besides those particularly scary eyes, you’d know its true nature after contact.
This nature is definitely not an act.
After a brief rest, Hao Jiacheng led the group to continue walking inwards, planning to find a village along the way to spend the night.
This village was on the mountain. Although the altitude was less than a thousand meters, the temperature noticeably dropped, and sometimes sitting in the car made one’s ears feel uncomfortable.
Having found a place to stay, everyone felt at ease, and since such trips were rare, they were unwilling to just stay indoors at the farmhouse.
Hao Rong called Luo Yirui and the two to go out. There were some horses on the mountain, but not many, as it hadn’t developed into a tourism area yet, so the horses were for personal use.
This could be seen as a natural horse farm. Wouldn’t someone let them ride the horses if Hao Rong paid?
Luo Yirui saw Hao Meili walking out of the village alone, heading outside. No one called out, and no one paid attention. Feeling a bit strange, he discussed with Jing Changle, and they decided to follow her to see.
Hao Rong found the two uninterested and went to ride the horse alone.
Hao Meili kept walking outside. On one side of the village, there was a dirt road pressed out and plains; on the other side was a cliff. Although not steep, the altitude was high enough that falling would be fatal.
Hao Meili came to the edge of the cliff and found a rock to sit down.
Luo Yirui and Jing Changle almost thought she was about to jump, nearly rushing over, but were speechless to see her sit down, wondering if they were overly tense.
"Come over and sit, let’s chat for a while," Hao Meili said.
Hearing about chatting gave Luo Yirui a headache, knowing this indeed came from Hao Meili and not it.
Luo Yirui and Jing Changle walked over and sat down at a certain distance from her, where the wind was still blowing quite strong.
"Sometimes I really can’t understand why all this happened to me."
